Duchess Harris, JD, Ph.D.
Dr. Duchess Harris is a professor of American Studies and the Special Assistant to the Provost for Strategic Initiatives at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Dr. Harris teaches courses in women’s and gender studies and is the founding member of American Studies department at Macalester. She serves on various local and national councils and has an extensive breath of academic books and writings that align with her courses on US politics, health care, race and law and black political thought. She also has written about the relevance of sport in America. Dr. Harris’ professional accomplishments earned her several local and state appointments that focused on civil rights and public defense.
Steve Davis Jr.
Steve Davis is a former college football player at the University of Minnesota and owns a sports company called Strive Higher After Sports. He is a Master Certified Life Coach and a Designing Your Life Certified Coach who is dedicated to helping athletes transition to life outside of their sport. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Davis just completed his first book entitled “Soul of an Athlete” which explored the stories and lessons learned by former athletes and their transitions away from competitive sports.
As a speaker, Davis brings together his experience in athletics and transition to empower others in their personal and professional journeys. He encourages individuals to design their own lives for future fulfillment.
